Torrey Pines Institute

2GHO participated in a design charrette to program, plan and conceptually design the outdoor environment for proposed Torrey Pines Institute at Tradition in St. Lucie County, Florida. The goal was to create an exciting, secure outdoor setting for researchers and other employees relax and circulate to other buildings within the campus.  Our team explored the full range of user activity potential including small and large gathering spaces, interaction with the water in various ways, and avenues for exercise both on land and water.  Excitement and movement was created through dramatic tensile fabric structures rising into the air and strong curvilinear pathways and walkways through vegetation and water.
